Sweden Crowned Champions of Europe.
05 November 2003
After a long and hard fought competition Sweden have come out on top with a win against France in the Finals of ECTFC.

After a tense draw on Shutdown2, they faced off on Well, where Sweden''s offy managed to go that extra mile and bring 3 caps home.

Well played to everyone that took part, it has truely been an honour to admin and be a part of this. You have all done your countries proud.

The past day of TFC.
02 November 2003
Well today has been busy, but im going to start on some good news.
Congratulations to sweden who won today vs NL. They are the first team to make the final.

---SKIP THIS PART IF YOU DONT LIKE DETAIL----

Now onto more the controversional aspects of today. Ill start by saying that TFC is a very emotional game for people. Passions are high and everyone wants to show the world they have what it takes. I hope you can all take the events of today in that context . This is a good thing maybe because it shows people still care about this lil 4 year old game:

Yesterday Team Belgium played Team Germany. It was a troublesome affair from the start because no referee was available. Therefore it was decided that Fusie (a tB player and ECTFC head admin) would do the rcon honours. However there was a problem mid way thru the map got restarted at 20-20 because Fusie pressed the wrong button on his console. tB then won from the restart and proceeded to win the tie on 2fort sudden death.

After the game a complaint was made about tB concing into the flagroom at prematch. Germany felt this was unfair because it let tB get an sg up quicker than they could have. Potentially costing them caps. At the time I(rebo) who dealt with the case felt there was not sufficient grounds to reverse the result. it wasnt prohibited in the rules and I had never seen a serious complanit abuot this in the past 4 years of TFC. However i did agree that this should be banned in the rest of ECTFC matches.

The next day, further complants were made to an admin who has now left ECTFC. He pointed out I was too hasty in making that decision on my own, and pressed for a vote the result of which (2 to 1) ment that tB would have to replay germany within the hour or forfeit.

tB decided this was unfair, and by having to play so soon, would ruin any chance of them winning a semi-finals (as they would have zero practise time). They therefore forfieted.

Because of the absurd decision that ment a new rule was enforced retroactively against something that is accepted in much of TFC both Fusie and myself resigned.

Then followed much arguing in #ectfc about the whole situation. After some time the overwhelming opinion in the community channel was that an injustice was being done and there should be a better resolution.

tB Germany France and some admins with the help of theNiggy came to an balanced agreement that is in the best interest of ECTFC.

----------------------

The situation now is this:::

On Tuesday at 19:30 CET tB will play 1 map of Well vs Germany. If tB win then a decider of 2fort will be played.

The winner of that game will then play France at 21:30 CET.

The finals vs Sweden will then be played on Wednesday at 21:00 CET.

To ensure this situation never happens again, the admin team has been restructured with definite rules by which cup changing decisions can take place.

The current admin team is::

Award the6 p00py Mac and Jay.

Deputy Head Admin ::rebo.

Head Admin :: Fusie.

All admins have power to vote 5 ppl must vote for a vote to have any power.

Head and Dep head must agree together to overturn a result of a vote. If one cannot vote due to conflict of interest or is unavailable the other is only required.

Appologies go out to the entire TFC community for the shame and disrespect these past events has caused. However we know this is important and are now ready to move on and make the end of the competition a success just as it was started.

Good luck to all teams remaining.
